The article deals with the problem of legal uncertainty in the definition of the concept of an apartment building in Russian legislation. Its social and legal consequences in the context of ownership, disposal and management of common property by owners of premises in apartment buildings are analyzed. Relevant recommendations are given for improving housing legislation.
